At Awesome Indies, we’re always striving to provide a better user experience for our users, and to that end we recently switched and upgraded our hosting to make the site faster. Unfortunately, while we paid for migration of the site weeks in advance, when the day came for the site to switch over, the whole website went down and several pages, posts and functions were lost. The new hosting company assured us they were going to fix it, but the site was still down for about four days. After that, the website came back, but would only load pages up until mid-2016. After several more days, they were able to get it updated to January, 2017 and last week they were able to retrieve all of our data up until May 31st, 2017. For whatever reason, they say that they are unable to retrieve a more-recent backup of the site (even though the site was backed up on July 2nd, the day before the migration) and as a result we have lost the month of June. As such, we are going to be re-posting items from June over the next two weeks while re-building missing pages and restoring full functionality (particularly to the search feature). We apologize for the inconvenience and if you’re one of the authors whose pages/posts have been affected, we will be in touch soon to get everything sorted out.
It isn’t all bad news, though. Migrating to a better hosting platform should result in the site loading faster. You’ll also now be able to use www.awesomeindies.com as well as www.awesomeindies.net to get to the site. Other improvements will be on their way once we get these issues sorted out.
Thanks everyone for your patience, we look forward to resuming normal operation soon.
