He made a deal with the devil to save the woman he loves…
After a terrible accident rocks the foundation of their relationship, Australian Sentinel Gavin Cassidy and whale biologist Zoe Morgan call it quits. Gavin can’t forgive himself for shattering her trust, and being with the sexy rock star is killing Zoe. Literally.
But love–and duty–are powerful motivators, and alliances are forged in the most unlikely places. With the key to salvation locked inside the mind of an unconscious child, Gavin must find another way to snuff out the Fyre Elementals before millions of humans die, or make good on his deal with the devil and lose the one he loves. Again.

Review: Its near impossible for me to try and articulate how amazing these books are. Let’s see, how about, if I wasn’t so intent on writing original fiction at this point in my life, I’d be starting a new venture writing Just Breathe FanFiction. Specifically about Sinnder… gah… I need more Sinnder. Seriously – if you’re a Wolf Girl – get these books, you won’t be able to stop until you read all three of them.
Just Breathe had me pacing the house bemoaning the stupidity of Gavin’s choices, the unbearableness of Zoe’s predicament and generally ranting about this book. The giant dog followed me from door to window (to the window to the window to the wall to the wall!) His giant doe eyes blinking at me wondering what n the world was going on that had me in such a tizzy. And then what happened with Sinnder!!? Seiously. I know this is a trillogy but if there aren’t companion books that go into that story line I’m going to find Kendall Grey and feed her to the orcas, piece by piece.
Just Breathe is the culmination of Gavin and Zoe’s story and it’s brilliantly done, but dude. I need to know more about Jack’s group and I want back stories on Vexx and Byrne and what’s up with Jet’s back and will Sinnder ever find the freedom he deserves? Oh god, this world is too huge and these character’s too good. While the ending was satisfying for the main plotline I’m jonesing for a Dreaming fix! Come on!
Just Breathe is the perfect culmination of a gripping, emotional and amazingly well-crafted story. Themes and storylines weave together through all three books seamlessly. Personally, I think my favorite thing was the use of Zoe’s “disability” to highlight what made her special. She thinks in pictures and song, she is more in touch with the empathetic/emotional life of the world around her than the pragmatics. As a parent with a child who his on the autism spectrum, I relate to the way Kendall depicts Zoe. She never lets the character off the hook for needing to manage her issues and maintain a presence in the real world, but she finds ways to highlight the beauty and unique gifts Zoe has to share. I look at my daughter and I see the same things. A mind that processes information and experiences differently, but beautifully. We can see the same thing but the way it exists for her is a gift to everyone she shares it with.
Rarely do I enjoy pure fantasy, but this time, I not only enjoyed it I found wisdom in it. I find myself looking at situations and people and thinking, there’s a lot of fire in her, or I really need some Air right now. To find a book that you enjoy this much but which also resonates a larger Truth is rare. Read this one. If I could, I’d gift a copy to each and everyone of you.
Note: All three books in the JUST BREATHE trilogy are Awesome Indies selections. You can find them here:
